A completely different species from the classic spinach. The Malabar spinach is a summer-growing plant that is climbing. An attractive, fantastically high yielding climbing plant with beautiful lilac flowers and numerous, fleshy leaves with a taste reminiscent of young pale corn. It gives green salads an aromatic note and can be steamed like spinach. Warmth-demanding, frost-sensitive species. It is an annual variety in the climate of Central Europe.
Sowing: from early March in a nursery. It is recommended to soak the seed for 12 hours before sowing. Transplanting from April.
Seed rates: about 10 g/100m2. Transplanting distances: 30-40 x 70-80 cm. Seeds per gram about 30.
