Lycopersicon lycopersicum (L.) Karsten ex Farw (synonimus Lycopersicum esculentum Mill.)
Guaranteed variety. Late variety of table tomato, beef heart tomato. Good for outdoor cultivation and without any pruning, or in the greenhouse with pruning. It is cultivated with the help of two lines of poles and wires that support the foliage. Or else it is cultivated with pruning and bracket. Tomato with medium-sized fruits (about 8 cm diameter 130-200 g), round and very productive until the end of October or more until the first frosts (December in North of Greece) . Is sensitive to sunburn, so is better to let the leaves and shoots to cover the fruits in the summer time, or to use a shading system. Resistant to fungi. Good for sauces too. For the market is harvested as soon as the color changes, before ripening because the mature fruits soften.
Sowing: From January in warm nursery for the greenhouse cultivation, transplanting from March to April in the field. Distances: 70 x 40 cm to 100 x 60 cm between the plants in the field.
Doses of the seed: about 10 grams / 1000 m2.
Ideal temperature for germination: 20-30 ° C.
Seeds per gram: 300-350 (0,1gr = 30-35 seeds)
